On the road again.... - Posted 10/25/2005 11:02:07 AM

Hey Guys..Sorry I have been so out of touch lately. Lots been going here. Both great and horrible. The good news is me and the 13's start the west coast run today at the Whiskey in L.A. I really hope you guys can come out. We are also playing a few shows with Alice Cooper on this tour, which of course is the highlight of my life for sure. I am beyond excited...After all he is the main reason I ever started playing music. The band (13) is tighter than ever, we have some surprises for the fans on this little tour, and some for the folks in Europe as well.

In the last couple of weeks alot has gone on that I would rather not discuss at this time. Its not anything to do with the business, just personal crap. I can assure you that everything is fine, and that I'm back and better than ever! "That which doesn't kill us, makes us stronger" right? I have also completed all the songs for my first solo record. It will be called "The Evacuation Plan" and should be out be mid Feb. I am so excited to play these songs for you. This will be the first Piggy D. solo record, and certainly not the last. I will start recording it right after the tour in November. The demos sound great now, but I know they will really come to life when the band gets in the studio. It will not be what you expect...I'll just say that much. It also will be 100% honest, no filler, no bullshit. I want to thank all you guys for your emails and interest over the last few weeks. The Hurricane was the first of a few "curve balls" life has thrown lately. It will all come out in the reocrd....trust me!

But for now, please come out and see us on this tour. I'm telling ya, the band is unstoppable right now. Dont miss it! We will speak again soon, thanks again.

Safe Home - Posted 9/13/2005 12:13:45 PM

Hey Piggies! Just wanted to update everyone on what is going on. Since the Hurricane hit, we went to Houston to stay with family for a week or so. We are now back in Los Angeles for the time being and staying with Gabs' family. We hope to be back in New Orleans by mid October, or at least be allowed back in to check on the state of things. Its been a stressfull ride the past couple of weeks. I can only imagine what those people who are completely homeless must feel like. We are so fortunate to have the friends we do, because you guys have made this whole nightmare somewhat bearable.

Just to let everyone know what exactly happened, here goes....

We left NOLA saturday night, about 36 hours before the Hurricane was set to hit. We packed only the bare essentials. A few days of clothes, the pets, some photos, soem of my recordings, etc. The car was packed full with animals and such, and we headed for Houston at about 10 pm. We got in at 6 Am on Sunday, and could hardly sleep we were so worried about our home city and its peeps. Just thinking about how the city would handle such an imminent threat was enough to turn our stomaches. By Monday morning we knew we some of the lucky few who we able to get out in time. The damage was horrifying. We lost all contact with our friends there and made ourselves sick thinking about what could have happened.

As the days went by, we slowly heard from everyone. We also heard the flooding had not reached our house, and it had not yet been looted. The damage to our property thus far is minimal even now. Again, we feel beyond lucky and blessed we dodged a huge bullet. I feel; we were spared for a reason. Maybe we are supposed to go back and help rebuild our city. In such a short time of living there, we feel completely at home. The city welcomed us with open arms and feel greatly in debt to it.

So when we can go back we will. We need to move on and take advantage of this huge opportunity and be a part of the solution. I have been stayingreally busy since we got back to L.A. last week. Wednesday 13 leaves for Oz and Japan on Monday and I cant wait to play again. I really want to thank Allen at Esp, Paul at Digitech, Scott at Dunlop, and Bert at Intune for helping me get my gear togther for the tour. Again, I brought nothing with me to Houston with the hopes of beiong able to come right back. These guys have been angels!!

I cannot express how lucky we are to have such amazing people looking after us. The phone calls and the emails have been overwhelming! Thank you all so much for thinking of us. We will never forget it. My band has been awesome as well. I cannot wait to get back on the road and kick some ass together...its been too long!

In other news....Some big shit is on the horizon for W13 and myself. I want to tell it all right now, but as usual I have to wait! DAMMIT! I will tell this though. Starting Oct 6th, I go into the studio to put some finishing touches on the Piggy D. demos. I 've been in touch with some friends since I've been back in L.A. and it's finally gonna happen. Rest assured I will get some finshed samples on the site when its done. I cant wait for you to hear it! Also , as some of you know; Black Victory (my custom clothing line) had just gotten its start in NOLA before all this happened. The good news is, its still gonna go! The bad news is, its a longer wait now. Simply due to being displaced and all the touring coming up. I have orders to fill and a lot of work to do but it will be worth the wait. I promise.

I will update again before I leave, sorry its been so long. I hope you all are well and safe. Also, give to the Red Cross. These people need you now more than ever. Pray to God the Feds get their shit together and save that town! There are some amazing people down there doing some amazing work. I hope they all know thats it's not in vain.

Thanks Again, talk soon. You guys are the best! Love, Pig

Body of Sound - Posted 8/9/2005 5:06:41 PM

I had lunch today with an old friend and his lady today. My friend Matt from Boston was in town for vacation and I hadn't seen him in a few years. We were in a band for a few months together years ago. They were called Woody, an experimental power rock trio from Buffalo. I filled in with them to give em a little extra volume here and there....Amazing songs. I miss those days. It was really nice to catch up and see whats been going on in the world of the 2 Matts.

Lot's of family have been passing through the doors lately. Moms, dads, brothers, nephews, nieces. You name it. It has been really nice to see eveybody again all in one fell swoop. I remarked today how strange it was that almost no one ever came to in Los Angeles. Now they all come at once. Maybe they figure I'm gonna move again soon! Not a chance. I'll be here for a while. Again, glad they were here to eat food and hang out, and not for a C02 induced funeral. Yay...funerals.

Wrote 3 new songs this last weekend. I guess I still have something to say after all, and thats always nice! I really think that I will have a good batch of songs done pretty soon. I'd love to put a few up here, but I dont think I will. I'll make you wait. Just Like I had to wait for them to come to me. Hopefully you will still want to hear em in 2012. Just kidding. Soon enough. I want to have an album done, packaged and ready to roll. By the first of the year. This time I think it will actually happen.

There has seemed to be a bit more focus since the little incident a few weeks ago. I think it took a while to realize I am alive and I have lots to do, so I better get a move on.

Since all the new websites dont seem to be coming together as fast as I want these days. I've decided to jump the gun with one of em. As some of you know, my custom clothing company BLACK VICTORY has been in the works for a while. So in absense of the site right now. I will be putting a brand new custom jacket on Ebay every week for the next 4 weeks. This is a cool opportunity for anyone to get one these cheaper than you will ever be able to later. Remember this stuff is hand sewn and one of a kind wearable art. Have fun and good luck!

Seen some good movies lately? Wow tis the season huh? I've now seen Devils Rejects twice and plan to go again soon. I saw War of the Worlds too! Fucking rules! I cant get enough of the Devils Rejects soundtrack. Its so well put together. I am also a huge Terry Reid fan now. His music is really amazing on the Rejects disc. I'm slowly buying all his stuff. I also have been spinning the new Alice Cooper record 'Dirty Diamonds' and of course it is awesome. My other big record right now is Bob Mould 'Body of Song' deluxe edition. I got the box set version, and what a cool comeback it is for him. I have always been a fan, but I'm a new one all over again. Thanks Bob!

Thanks for all your continued support. It means a lot right now. It is nice to be able to share art and music with all of you. I hope everyone is well. lil' p

Tons of Fun with Carbon Monoxide - Posted 7/21/2005 10:57:38 AM

So today is a new day. After yesterday everything seems a little more peaceful, well almost. I was sitting at my desk working after lunch. I started to feel a little tired. I had enough coffee, had plenty of sleep, just thought I was exhausted or coming own with something. I had a funny feeling that something was really wrong with me. I got up and checked my new Carbon Monoxide detector that was purchased as part of my hurricane preparedness kit a week ago. It read a surprising 256! Anything detected over 9 is bad for you. I grabbed the pets and put them in the bedroom, grabbed the phone and called the lady. I told her I was outside losing my cookies, and to call 911. She did and came home in about 3 seconds. Six firetrucks, one amblance, and an hour on an oxygen tank I was fine. The firemen said they had never seen a C02 level that high before and that I was lucky to be alive. All the pets were fine as well...lets call it divine intervention!

So today I feel hungover. The plumbers and gas people are swarming the house and running tests on everything. They found a big gas leak in the stove line, and are now under the house with a fine tooth comb. Yay.

On a happy note. I've gotten a lot of work done on the web sites lately. The Sunday Fires street team is kicking ass. i'm really proud of all of you who are helping! The site should be up real soon. I want it to be really cool, so its taking a bit longer than I wanted. I also have an official site for The She-Demons going up soon. I figured it was about time that the band be given a fond farewell. There will be tons of cool, never before seen or heard stuff on there. I cant wait. If thats not enough. I am also launching a custom clothing line called 'Black Victory'. You will be able to send me your jackets and pants and whatever else for customization and 'pig-like' distressing. I have always done my own stuff, and have now started doing it for other people. I gotta say I'm really happy with the results. More to come on that.

On August 15th. I will start writing a new column on ExperienceMetal.com. It will just be a rant and bitch fest and hopefully be a good outlet for me. I'm a pretty happy guy, but we all need an outlet right? Jo aka 'Mama-Trash' has asked me to contribute to her awesome site. So be sure and check it out every month on the 15th. She has tons of cool reviews, interviews, and photos you cant see anywhere else.

I will updating you all on the projects soon so stay tuned!

Gonna go get some fresh air! -p.

The Day after Tomorrow - Posted 7/11/2005 1:32:26 AM

So we survived the stupid hurricane. Actually we got no rain and hardly any wind at all. Howabout that for four days of watching the news. I watched more of that senseless crap more this week than I ever have in my life. All I learned is to "be afraid, be very afraid!" ...of what I have no idea.
Of course I say this, and then the next one hits us dead on. I feel really sorry for the people that lost their lives to it. That sucks. Can you imagine if you got killed by a storm with the same name as you. Thank got I dont live in Cuba (though I hear its nice) and my name is not Dennis.
So back to work this week. Lots to do. The Sunday Fires site is really almost done. If you aren't hip to what going on with the mesage board, get over there now! you are way behind! I can't wait get the official site up and start showcasing all the talent I've been seeing on there. Thanks to those of you who are helping promote our little club. Pretty kewl! Here's some of the new ads for the TSF site...
