Wednesday:
I started writing down lyrics for song ideas when I was eleven. I didn't know how to play guitar so I just made them up in my head. I came up with a lot of stupid stuff and wish I still had that notebook just so I could have a good laugh.
Joey:
I was around 5 years old picking up a Sunburst Les Paul at my great grandfathers....also listening to a steady diet of AC/DC, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath and Kiss from my parents record collection.
Acey:
Seeing Twisted Sister and Iron Maiden at the Philadelphia Spectrum.
Ben:
I remember when I was growing up and starting to get into music, and what an intense effect it had on me. How it inspired me, how it excited me, how it spoke to me, and just really made me feel alive.
I felt drawn to certain types of bands, and I always knew what kind of sound and style that I wanted to be associated with. Then when I started going to concerts, .... that changed everything, feeling that excitement in the air, and how it really brought people together. I remember seeing Motley Crue when I was 13 or 14 years old, I mean, I couldn't even believe that was in the same building as them, it's like they weren't even human ... they were aliens or something. And when the lights went out, and the whole arena stood up and started screaming and cheering so fucking loud, I was so excited I almost shit myself!! I think that's around the time when I knew what I was gonna do with my life."
Eric:
I initially became interested in rock'n'roll when I was 6 and got my first KISS record..... I played a couple of different instruments in school, but it wasn't until later (I think I was 11 or 12), after seeing my first concert (motley crue) that I became determined to get an electric guitar...and so I did.
It's been my life ever since.......
2. What's your favorite song? (of murderdolls)
Wednesday:
Dawn of the Dead or Die My Bride
Joey:
That's fucking hard.....a song that we haven't written yet more than likely.
Acey:
19766 or Welcome to the Strange
Ben:
That's a tough one cause I like em' all, 'She Was A Teenage Zombie' cause it's fun to play, 'People Hate Me' cause the lyrics rule, and 'Welcome To The Strange' cause it's so different from the other ones."
Eric:
It's always been either "slit my wrist" or "people hate me".... I don't really understand the human race sometimes, and I know it doesn't get me..... I get to vent a lot of frustration live with these songs.... good sleazy, heavy grooves, too.... Lately, I've been excited about "welcome to the strange".... it's different than anything we've done - it lays back and takes a ride that goes a little deeper, if you know what I mean.... it's another dimension that this band has, and it makes me anxious to play new material......
3. What are your favorite cds?

4. What is your most embarrassing moment during the tour?
Wednesday:
One that comes to mind was on the last UK tour where I introduced the same song twice. I was trying to introduce 197666 and came out introducing 'Graverobbing USA" which we had just played a few songs before it. I knew I fucked up and asked the audience to call me an asshole and they very kindly did.
Or the time where we played "Hamburg" Germany and I kept calling the audience "Frankfurt" Germany.
Joey:
Drinking 2 bottles of red wine on a plane ride from Japan to England, getting cut off from the stewardess, getting pissed, then yelling " YOU NEVER CUT ME OFF BITCH!!!!!" with Eric in tow, proceeding to break out a bottle of Saki that was a gift to Eric from the promoters in Japan doing a shot then instantly puking all the wine up on to my 1981 white Motley Crue t shirt....we took pictures so maybe Wednesday can put one up for all of you to see [*].....this is alot more rock and roll I guess than an embarrassment....I don't get embarrassed very easily....fun times.
Acey:
I don't get embarrassed...mostly. BUT-during 'I love to say fuck' I always climb up the Ghouls drums and jump off at the end. I have NEVER fallen when I land. Except at Manchester Academy on the Stone Sour tour-when I had no pants on. Jumped off and 'whoomm' right on my bare ass. Good thing it didn't splinter as I had burned my ass the night before in Glasgow..and I still have a scar from that! I'll always have something to remember Glasgow and Manchester for, for the rest of my life.
Ben:
That would probably be the day we almost got kicked off the Iron Maiden tour for 'bad behavior' the night before. We weren't even allowed to be inside the venue that day, except to play. Our tour manager had to escort us in to make a formal apology to IM's crew, cause we woke everyone up at 4am with our drunken shenanigans, since we were staying at the same hotel. I think Wednesday had gone into greater detail about it in his 'Full Metal Jack-Off' column in Metal Hammer. After a couple days everything was fine ...but, boy were they pissed!"
Eric:
There's so many- I can't keep track of all the "Spinal Tap" moments we have..... here's one....in Holland, my bass rig died on stage....this had happened once before, in Birmingham, and I had ended up diving off the stage and surfing the crowd for a bit while the band played on.... so figured I might as well do it again as I was starting to feel pretty stupid standing onstage while the crew tried to sort it out....
...not half as stupid as I felt when I went straight through the ghouls and onto the floor- hard...I didn't tell anyone at the time, but my wrist hurt so bad I thought it was broken.....
.....bad turned to worse when after finally getting my gear up and running, the power to the whole stage went out! I remember sitting down behind the riser with Ben and just waiting..... and waiting.... and waiting...
fortunately our fans rule, and stuck around until we were able to eventually finish the show..... thanx ghouls.....
